What are the late fees for expired registration in California?

How early can I renew my registration?
DMV allows renewal up to 75 days before the expiration date.
How much does your registration service cost?

Do I need a smog check to renew?
Gasoline and hybrid vehicles more than 8 model years old need a smog check every other renewal. Newer vehicles pay a smog abatement fee instead. We don’t perform smog checks, but we’ll tell you if one is due.
